Brand Introduction
In 1888, the inventor of air atomization technology, Dr. Allen DeVilbiss, from Toledo, Ohio, USA, created the world’s first atomization tool using a rubber bulb, some test tubes, and an oil can.
In 1907, Dr. Allen DeVilbiss’s son, Tom DeVilbiss, decided to extend his father’s invention by transforming the atomizer into a spray gun for paint spraying. This invention came at a crucial time during the period of industrial growth, significantly reducing drying time from weeks to hours and producing far superior paint finishes compared to brushes. This led to a substantial increase in production efficiency, marking a new milestone.
By 1923, spray guns had fully entered the industrial coating field, revolutionizing coating processes across various industries from furniture and automobiles to ships and aircraft, greatly enhancing spray painting production efficiency.
For over 130 years, DeVilbiss has been dedicated to producing a variety of spray guns and complementary equipment for the automotive and industrial markets. As the founder of atomization technology, DeVilbiss has become a leader in the spray painting market.
